BE LIKE JESUS

FOLLOW - A Year of Apprenticeship to Jesus

When Jesus first called His disciples, He didn’t offer a program, a belief system, or a list of tasks. He offered a life. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of people.” In that single sentence (Mark 1:17), Jesus lays out the whole vision of discipleship. This is not just an invitation to walk behind Him - it is a formation promise. To follow Jesus is to be with Him, become like Him, and do what He did. This is the language of rabbinic apprenticeship, where disciples didn’t simply learn information from a teacher—they reordered their entire lives around being shaped by their rabbi. Throughout this year, we are leaning into that same call. To follow Jesus means slowing our pace to match His, arranging our lives around His presence, and allowing His way of life to form us from the inside out. As we practice the way of Jesus together - through rhythms of rest, prayer, Scripture, community, generosity, and mission -we trust His promise: “I will make you…” Spiritual maturity is not something we achieve by striving harder; it is something Jesus forms in us as we walk closely with Him. And as we are formed, we are sent - living lives that quietly, faithfully, and compellingly invite others to follow Him too. This year is an invitation to deeper discipleship, lasting transformation, and a joyful apprenticeship to Jesus - together.
