Missionary Bio:

In the fall of 2021, Brian and Amy Jones planted Hills Community Church in San Marcos, California after researching, praying and asking for God’s direction. They prayed over every area of San Marcos, a city where 90% of the population is unaffiliated with a church. Bara Church was instrumental in the beginnings of Hills Community Church, gifting them with mobile church supplies and financially supporting them. “Joel was the first pastor to believe in me and support us,” Brian recalls.

Brian and Amy have four children: Jacob, 15, Sophie, 13, Wilson,11, and Luke 9. Amy homeschools all four, leads the worship team, and recruits volunteers.

We are privileged at Bara to stand side by side this sister church and investing in God’s work in the community of San Marcos.

Let’s pray over these requests for Brian and Amy and their church family:

Organization Impact

The Hills Community Church is creating a place where people can belong, build meaningful relationships, and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Through weekly programs for children, community groups, and a culture centered on relationship and discipleship, The Hills is reaching people at every stage of life. Their impact also extends beyond their local community through financial partnerships with churches and organizations, including Compass Church in San Diego, The Abiding Church in Pasadena, and Hope Community Church in New York City. Through prayer, giving, going, and church planting, The Hills is helping carry the mission of Jesus both locally and around the world

Prayer Focus:

1. Rent in their present meeting place (at a school) is increasing over 100% and they are looking for a new place or for the funds to be provided.

2. Since they are far away from family, they are praying for God to bring people to be family to them in San Marcos.

3. They recently launched a youth ministry in August with 12 leaders. Pray that God would give them open doors as they seek to give hope to the next generation, and for a person to lead the ministry.
